What We Believe
It is important to understand the beliefs that people hold to that teach spiritual truths. Following are the beliefs that we at Goliath's Spear hold to:
We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God, and inerrant in the original writing, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead: one God eternally existing in three equal persons … Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of Mary, a virgin, and is true God and true man, and that He died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there as High Priest and Advocate.
We believe in the fall, total depravity and guilt of the race of Adam, which for man’s salvation necessitates the sovereign, divinely initiated deliverance of the sinner by the grace of God in Christ.
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit. It is He who calls and regenerates believers. He baptizes them into Christ. He indwells, seals and fills the believer for service.
We believe in the direct creation of the universe and man by God, as set forth in the Genesis account and apart from any process of evolution.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
We believe in the eternal salvation of all individuals who put their trust in Christ and His shed blood.
